Wildflower Workshop and Railroad Right of Way Tour
1–2:30pm: Workshop at the Ocean Shore Train Depot, at the foot of the Johnston House, 110 Higgins Canyon Rd, Half Moon Bay
3–5pm: Tour. Meet at corner of Poplar Street and Railroad Ave; parking at Poplar Beach.
Leader: Toni Corelli, a retired botanist specializing in biotic plan communities and associated species with emphasis on rare and endangered plans and habitats in the San Francisco Bay Region. Toni is currently a volunteer consultant for the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (MROSD); Nature Conservancy; Sempervirens Fund; State Parks of California; Coastal Conservancy; Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST); San Francisco Watershed and other public lands in the San Francisco Bay Region. Her duties include surveying potential land acquisitions and existing properties to provide biological resource inventories; delineating biotic plant communities and associated plant species within the survey areal documenting rare and endangered plant species and plant communities; assessing management problems associated with biotic plant communities, for both native and non-native plants; and providing maps of the biotic plant communities, lists of associated plants and biotic resources within the survey areas.
Workshop: $15 adults, $5 seniors, 18 and under free. RRoW Tour: free.
