Thank you to everyone who came out today to join us for California Coastal Cleanup Day. We’re so grateful you spent part of your Saturday caring for this stretch of coast with us — and especially grateful for everyone’s flexibility and patience with the minimized beach access.
Some of our steadfast volunteers had quite a haul of trash by the end of the morning. Every bottle, wrapper, piece of fishing line, and bit of litter removed from the shoreline makes a difference.
And then there were the whales and dolphins. As we sat together and watched them moving through the water, we were reminded of just how much life is happening beyond the shoreline. For quite a while, we simply stood and watched in awe.
A big thank you to the California Coastal Commission for organizing California Coastal Cleanup Day and creating a statewide opportunity for people to come together to care for our shared shores. We’re also grateful to Sea Crest School for partnering with us and all the families who came out to join in the morning. Thank you to the Half Moon Bay Ritz Carlton for sharing delicious donuts with us all. We look forward to them every year!
Thank you to everyone who showed up, picked up trash, shared the morning, and helped care for this special place. We’re lucky to have this coast… and even luckier to have a community willing to care for it.
