Helping people of all ages connect with our shared open spaces on the coast is at the heart of Coastside Land Trust's mission.
In this article for the Land Trust Alliance, our Junior Land Stewards Program Manager, Haley Peterson, shares how the program is inspiring local fourth graders, empowering Half Moon Bay High School Science students as mentors, and creating lasting connections to the land.
The article also looks ahead to an exciting new chapter, with the launch of the Wingwatchers program this fall. This is a brand new bird ecology and community science program for CUSD 7th graders, working in partnership with the San Mateo County Bird Alliance and California State Parks.
